After returning home from the Army, Allen Witzel and his family set out to build something of their own. What followed was a two-year search for the right property, and a full-scale transformation of what they found.
The Team at Sunset Ridge
The building wasn’t ready when they found it. It took a full year of renovation, from the structure itself down to the systems behind it.
At the same time, each person stepped into their role.
Allen trained in culinary to lead the kitchen. Ashley trained in planning and design. Leslie built on years of experience as a certified wedding planner.
What started as an idea quickly became a fully built operation.

From the beginning, the goal wasn’t just to create a venue that looked aesthetically pleasing. It was to create a fully produced experience, from tour to send-off, that exceeded couples’ expectations.
Planning, catering, design, and execution are all handled by the same team. That structure came from experience, not theory, and it shows in how the day runs.

Sunset Ridge sits on 200 acres just outside Chattanooga, with a multi-level venue designed for the full wedding day.

“The Views at Sunset Ridge was a dream venue for our wedding. They were even willing to accommodate a weekday for us since the date held so much meaning. They were incredibly flexible, helping us include our three dogs in the day, which made it even more special. Our coordinator kept everything running smoothly while still giving us space to enjoy each moment, from getting ready to walking down the aisle in a stunning indoor ceremony setup. They also guided us with decor and vendor recommendations, all of which turned out beautifully. The food was a highlight, too! Our guests loved the taco bar just as much as the dancing. Overall, Sunset Ridge brought everything together into a day that felt seamless, personal, and unforgettable. We’re so grateful for everything they did to celebrate with us.”
